Terminator Salvation

Today we sat at the second row from below, next to the wall somemore. The cinema was so full of people since it's saturday. I just couldn't find any other time more suitable than 2.45pm to watch it...Hence, the uncomfortable seat was the only choice.
I never watch any Terminator movies before. Not long after the movie started, Xiong 'warned' me not to watch previous movies, as I did to X-men. Now I can tell him that I won't.
This movie wasn't added to my favourite movie list. Haha. That's the conclusion.
Sometimes when we thought the movies have ended, they actually still have a scene at end. We have missed that for few times, that's why I waited till the very end today...dun worry, this movie doesn't have one...(but luckily yesterday we waited for Monsters vs Aliens)

3D Monsters Vs Aliens+Lunch at MFM

Watched it yesterday in Midvalley. It was my first time watching 3D movie. It was also the first time I went to Midvalley with Xiong too. Hehe. Before the movie started, there was trailer of Ice Age 3 in 3D...Maybe later we'll watch that in 3D too.
The dialogue was hilarious but I felt that the story line was so-so. I knew Hugh Laurie voiced someone in this movie but I didn't expect it's the cockroach. Haha, Dr House became Dr Cockroach Ph.D.
I like BOB...He was funny despite brainless. I meant he literally had no brain. Sometimes he just thought that he was someone else. Eg he thought he was also in relationship with Susan's fiance,Derek, after listening to Susan's story.

We both felt that it was eye straining to watch 3D movie..Dunno why...Luckily there was a 'break' in between the movie. Ok la, it's actually something went wrong and the movie stopped halfway. Then somebody went to fix it so that we could continue watching. Before that I heard somebody were saying 'refund,refund'...:D

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Before we went for the movie, we had lunch in Manhattan fish market.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

At night, I found that I was getting more and more rhinorrhea. It got worse when I woke up this morning. I'm wondering whether I shall take any medication to stop it since I'm going to camp tomorrow...*-*

New History in UKM Medical Faculty

Today is a memorable day.

Later in our life, I think most of us will remember how we have struggled through 3 semesters of Special Study Module(SSM) and finally presented our research findings(either oral or poster presentations) in First SSM Annual Scientific Meeting, UKM Medical Centre.

The day kicked off at 7am with the registration. Of course not much participants were going sharp at 7am except me, the dumb dumb. Haha. But I felt quite content that I helped with pasting the posters and chatting around. After registration, we were given a bag with an abstract book, a pen, a notebook, a bottle of water, card and even sweets(I guess to prevent us doze off...See how considerate the commitee were)...Then I realized that my phone battery was running low- meant that I couldn't took much photo with it. I was indeed very shy to take photo with my SE K810i since so many professional photographers were taking photos with their high tech and expensive camera. Wish I could have one too...*blink*

There were 42 groups of us. 21 groups presented orally and 21 groups presented using posters. At the end of the day, 3 groups from each mode of presentation would be chosen as winners and would be sent to Jakarta for Malaysia-Indonesia-Brunei scientific conference.

The most special VIP of the day, in my opinion, was Dato' Dr Amir bin Abas. He is the foundation dean of medical faculty of UKM. Ok la, maybe you think it's not that special. Somehow the title of "first" is glamorous ma.

I didn't see much of the poster presentation as oral and poster presentations were held simultaneously. However, I could say that oral presentations were interesting. What? You saw me chatting most of the time? No la, at least I did pay attention for 30 minutes since the beginning of presentation, after every tea break and whenever professors and doctors asking questions...

Me with poster of my group

Last but not least, kudos to my group members who were presenting and congrats to the winners. Those who were desperate to win but failed, don't be too sad ya...For those who were desperate to win and finally win, you should sleep well tonight.

Chicken Cordon Bleu

Chicken Cordon Bleu is a tasty combination of chicken, ham and cheese, rolled together and usually fried...

Chicken cordon bleu in Coliseum. Personally I don't like the skin fried as above.

Chicken cordon bleu in Delaney's the Irish Pub. It costs Rm25 but it's a big portion! It was more cheesy than the other two. However, this is still not my favourite.

Dang Dang DangDang...My favourite chicken cordon bleu, so far, is the one in Secret Recipe...Actually I just tasted it twice. The first one in Times square was impressive but second one in Leisure Mall was disappointing.

Actually the sequence of display should be from Secret Recipe to Coliseum if according to date. It has been a long time since I last visited Secret Recipe.
3 chicken cordon bleu from 3 different places. If I like certain food, I'll eat it very frequently until I fed up and then I'll stop for a long while. I can't apply this to chicken cordon bleu 'cause you know la, it's not cheap.

Hopefully you are not like me...

I tried to resist myself to click again on this kind of post but failed.

Hannah Montana: The Movie Soundtrack

I know I am no longer a child/teenager but it's nothing wrong that I like to watch sitcom Hannah Montana gua?
I was attracted to the song 'The Climb' once I listen it from the radio for the first time. Yesterday I finally get the whole soundtrack. More than 50% of the songs are my cup of tea. "Back to Tennessee" by Billy Ray Cyrus(Miley's real life father)is one of my favourite too.
Fans of Taylor Swift can also listen to her song "Crazier".
I am waiting for the movie even though I guess it might just be another ordinary Disney's movie.

Night at the Museum: Battle of Smithsonian

Watched it at 11.45pm with sleepy eyes. Funny sometimes but I was still sleepy...Haha.

Explanation of Pensieve

Dumbledore: "I use the Pensieve. One simply siphons the excess thoughts from one's mind, pours them into the basin, and examines them at one's leisure. It becomes easier to spot patterns and links, you understand, when they are in this form."
Harry: "You mean... that stuff's your thoughts?"
Dumbledore: "Certainly."
- Albus Dumbledore to Harry Potter
  • The Pensieve is an object used to review memories.
  • It has the appearance of a shallow stone basin, into which are carved runes and strange symbols. It is filled with a silvery substance that appears to be a cloud-like liquid/gas; the collected memories of people who have siphoned their recollections into it.
  • Memories can then be viewed from a third-person point of view.
Etymology
  • Pensieve seems to be a pun, combining the words "pensive" and "sieve".
  • The latter is an object in which something may be sorted, thus it allows for the sorting of thoughts, or memories.
  • It is also an anagram of Pevensie, the surname of the characters Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy from The Chronicles of Narnia whom the author (C.S. Lewis) of was J.K. Rowling's favourite.

(Blur blur photo taken by a waiter. Anyway, thank him for volunteer)

I always feel that it's wise to go for buffet with some friends if you really want to taste various kind of food without wasting.

Overall the dim sum were good. Even the variety of dim sum wasn't big, you shouldn't expect more with the price of RM20(excluding government tax, service charge, drinks and appetizer). We ordered a pot of chinese tea but we were charged Rm2.50 per person. Appetizer was about RM7.50 and I am not sure whether you can refuse to take it or not.
Three of us(Ah Beng, Bun San and I) were busy taking photos once the dim sum were served. I hope Ah yap and Lawrence weren't cursing me as I delayed them savouring the dim sum. Just kidding. :)

Malaysian Emotional Quotient Inventory(I don't believe this)

WHAT DOES YOUR SCORE MEAN? YOUR SCORE [ 76.18]

This Could Be The Strength Your Are Looking For. You should not look far when trying to improve your emotional intelligence. The competency that has score within this range is actually among your best competency especially when the score is on the upper range (70 – 80). You are aware of the competency and are actually doing OK in life. However, there are some other competencies that are pulling you back, and make you stuck below the ceiling. You can start with this competency, and slowly bring it out to your attention. This will help you develop your full potential and become a more rounded person.
My thought:
  • Don't quite understand the explanation. Pardon my poor understanding of English...
  • The questions were in Malay but the explanation in English?Impressive!
  • 26 pages of questions made me tired of answering. I answered twice because my answers disappeared!
  • I couldn't view the few questions near the end...simply put some answers...haha...(couldn't download java)
  • Like the sentence: You are aware of the competency and are actually doing OK in life.
  • Don't think that I'm that mature. 90? Too much.
  • This test has no impact on my life. Wanna know the only reason that I took it? It's compulsory for formative assessment of Personal & Professional Development(PPD).
  • Friends, I'm interested to know your scores and feeling about this...Mind to tell me? Ok, I admit that I'm busybody. Look, I'm so honest, am I not?Haha.

Angels and Demons

Watched it today....
  • I've never read the book "Angels and Demons', so I don't have any clues of what the story was about beforehand.

  • Bad guy had the bad guy kind of look from the start of movie. But I can't figure out what his intention was. I thought I was wrong until the end.

  • My instinct told me that the fourth victim would be saved and I was right! Kind of disappointed because I could guess the outcome.

  • Conclusion:It didn't impress me much.

Weekend+cooking

Last weekend I was lazy to cook. Already lost of initial enthusiasm. Nevertheless I still had to since I wanted to cook fried rice that was not sticky.

So here's the pictures:

1) I considered this was successful la. Used Maggi's dunno-what-powder as seasoning. This dunno-wat-powder can be used to cook different dishes o. I found one of the reasons of previous sticky rice, ie, I din pour enough oil.

2) This was the first time I ever fried a fish on my own. Ok la, with some help from Xiong la. It looked terrible and you sure won't recognize the type of fish from the picture. Had to fry it twice because we realized that it wasn't fully cooked. Kinda similar to the show 'Beautiful Cooking' whereby the judges always critize that the food wasn't cooked.

3) Second time cooking 'ku lou yok'...This was better than the first time. I can only say that it's just luck. It tasted like popcorn chicken(Nice!) before I added in the tomato sauce..(it's pork)...

4)Unpalatable...

5)Plain rice and eggs...Looked good but nothing special as I didn't add in any seasoning.

Lunch at McDonald

Today we went to McDonald for lunch...Since SSM was so depressing, I started to crave for fastfood as a method of relieve. However, my limit is no more than once in a week la.(By the way, I'm putting weight now. That's why fast food do me no good at all)

We ordered two sets of Spicy chicken McDeluxe. Xiong took the large but I only chose the medium. We took the usual coke instead of diet coke and Xiong was annoyed after we read this(see below). Coke light is just 1kcal regardless of size! How ignorant I am...

Ignore the oil stain from french fries ya...Haha...
McDonald is very good la. They display the energy(kcal) of food that you eat. It's like the warning on the cigarette box. If you want to smoke, then you take the risk of getting cancer(pity us, the passive smoker la). Same goes to this, if you want to eat fast food frequently, you bear the consequences.

We always have exercise plan, study plan and diet plan but none of them seem to be successful and persistent so far. Hopefully tomorrow is a better day a start of...haha...hopefully and hopefully.

Malaysia Best Buy Cosmetics Website

Huhu,I just found an interesting website. They sell many branded cosmetics and skin care products at lower price. Not sure of its genuineness and quality of its products and service. I would like to try but I don't have so much money...Second reason is that I just bought a new facial cleanser which will take a long time to finish. Sigh, window shopping is enough lo.
