This movie is indeed a good lesson about fear.

The Martian

It is not often that hubby can accompany me for a movie during the weekends. An it's even rare that I go to the cinema to watch a considered new release movie.
Interesting movie but it didn't touch me emotionally as deep as some other movies.

Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials

There's something good about not reading the book before - you never know what happens next.

The movie ticket was free as it was my birthday month. This is the second/third time I went to the cinema without bringing my baby.

The sense of guilt was killing me and thus not enjoying the movie to the max. What make it worse was that the babysitter told me about the baby having fever just right before I went into the cinema hall.

Inside Out

We always think that sadness is bad and we should try our best to hide it but actually expressing our sadness appropriately can help us to become a better person.

Panasonic Bread Maker sd-p104

I have been yearning for a bread maker since last year and particularly Panasonic brand. For your information,  I don’t own an oven and I think bread maker is perfect for a lazy person like me. Haha.

In Malaysia, there is only one model of Panasonic bread maker i.e. SD-P104. As greedy as I am, I hope to get a new version like those in other countries. However, this seems to be impossible for me after considering the cost of buying it from oversea. Hence, what was in the wish list remained in the wish list. In fact, there are many other cheaper brands of bread makers available in the market that I could choose.

In June 2015, I saw that TBM online in Rakuten Malaysia was having Father’s Day promotion whereby the Panasonic bread maker SD-P104 was sold only at RM599!!! This was indeed a good chance to buy in a bread maker. So, one week after my online order, I finally received my ‘toy’…

New toy
First try - plain bread with crust setting 'medium' - crust too hard

First bread - inner view
Second bake - raisin bread
A successful one
Crust setting  'light'
Third bake - wheat germ bread
Didn't rise as expected but edible
I considered it fail

Immediate after third bake, I washed the container and bake another wheat germ bake.
It was a fiasco as I forgot to place the blade and thus the ingredients couldn't be kneaded.
Moral of the story: Don't bake in the middle of the night.

Coffee Raisin Bread
used 3 in 1 coffee mix. although the coffee taste was not strong but overall I was satisfied. At least the colour was very nice.

There is recipe together with the manual but somehow you are going to get bored of it. Google is always a good freind for a less creative person (yes, me). However, it's hard to find new recipe / recipe in English originated from Singapore or Malaysia. Most google results are some bloggers' reviews after invitation to Panasonic bread maker workshop. Fret not, you can always buy bread maker recipe book written by Taiwanese / Japanese author. But I think the quantity of ingredients need to be modified to suit your machine.

Except the first bake, I have been using 'light' crust setting as it more suit to my taste. However, it can be slight chewy for those who don' t like it.

For me, bread maker is not very cost-effective unless
  • you buy a cheaper one
  • you use it consistently and for a long term
Nevertheless, home baked bread is always the best as you can control the ingredient and surely preservative-free! The aroma of fresh bread and hot from the oven bread maker is priceless. Haha.
So far I have only tried the basic bread setting. Don't really have the time (with a clingy baby) and space to try out other settings. Hopefully I can optimise the usage of this bread maker after I move into my new house later. Bye.

A New Life

Can't believe that my last update was in November 2014. It also means that I have not stepped into a cinema for 3 months and it could be another few months more.

3rd December 2014 marked a major change in my life - being a mom. Although it's tiring, I never regret it. Her smile worth all the time, money and pain. Love you, my little angel.
