We went to Sogo to spend some vouchers:)...Copy of IMG_0406 Copy of IMG_0408 I like these kind of dress but I couldn’t buy because they make me look like a pregnant lady!

I ended up with a simple red t-shirt...I seldom wear red cloth during CNY...haha

Good news or bad news?

More affordable way to pursue a medical degree

PETALING JAYA: There is now a new and affordable avenue for Malaysians to study medicine locally.

Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman’s (Utar) new Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences will hold its first intake in May, at a cost of about RM50,000 a year, a fraction of what parents would have to pay for medical courses in other local private universities.

The Higher Education Ministry has just approved the faculty’s Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) programme and the faculty will accept an initial 50 students this year.

Housed at the varsity’s Sg Long campus in Selangor, the MBBS programme will cost RM50,000 per annum and around RM250,000 for the entire five-year course.

There are currently 25 universities training doctors in Malaysia. Ten of them are public universities while private universities and university colleges make up the other 15. Please read the complete one here if u’re interested...

Last year, after my postings in Teluk Intan, I just realized that how many housemen we have currently... One of the advantages is the workload can be lessen. Nevertheless, it becomes more and more competitive in learning. We are always reminded that doctors are getting more. The other school of thought is that doctors are still not enough if you compare the ratio of doctors to population...With so many universities offering medical degree, be it public or private, locally or overseas, I wonder quality or quantity is more important...It’s good that many youngsters can get into med school but are there enough lecturers or facilities for them? Maybe I’m just disappointed by my own shortcomings.

I first heard of Master Cheng Yen when I was in Standard 6. Our dear headmaster always like to teach us quotes from her..However I only started to know  better about her when I study in university and involved in some Tzu-chi activities...

I add this in my post because

1st, out of bored

2nd, the background is nice

3rd, I hope somebody may learn from what she says...(hmm, this sounds more like a decent reason)...hehe

Aunty, may I go to ur house+Yong Tau Fu

9.1.2010

2 in 1 post...I’m very lazy busy ma...

1.In Family Medicine posting, we are required to find a patient and do a home visit as our family case study...After an ‘ordeal’, I found a patient(the 2nd that I met actually) who stays in Ampang...It’s not the place that I usually hang out...Thanks to Google map, I located her house quite easily...It only took us 15 minutes to reach her house from ppukm since there was no traffic jam...We reached an hour earlier than the appointment time...Thank God everything went smoothly...I’m very grateful to the patient since there are many people who unwilling to let us(strangers) visit their home.

2. There is a shop(Home Town Yong Tau Fu) near Ampang Point that Xiong used to go. Since we were already somewhere near by, we as well dropped by to have lunch...I don’t like Yong Tau Fu very much, so I wouldn’t comment on the food...

Adding a new section...hehe...

Sherlock Holmes

8.1.2010
I know I'm quite late in watching this movie but I have no choice.

It has been some time since we last watched movie in Time Square...If we managed to book tickets in Pavilion or Mid Valley, certainly we were not going to Time Square. It's because Xiong feels that the seats in Pavilion are more comfortable. Haha.

This movie is quite interesting...Or maybe I'm biased because watching Robert Downey Jr is my only concern...I have a penchant for his acting after I watched Iron Man...Hehe...Honestly, I was bored as I could guess that so-called black magic in unreal.

p/s: Suddenly had an urge to shop but I had no time before the movie started...:( Wanna buy an piece of ornament for my little bag but end up with nothing since it was the last piece with some defects. I don't understand why the things that I choose are always the imperfect last piece. Arrghh...

Don't worry, I'm still human...croaks...oops..:P
